What does the role involve?

Being a part of our Vehicle Solutions business unit, you'll be working amongst the Technical Downtime team in Trowbridge who support our biggest customers in keeping their vehicles on the road. When vehicles go in for maintenance or repair, you'll be monitoring progress and chasing garages to ensure the downtime is kept to a minimum.

Our office is based in Trowbridge but we're passionate about hybrid working, attendance of the office is required 3 days per week.

Some of your key duties will include:

Reviewing and authorising jobs through 1link system and utilising your expert technical knowledge by actioning assigned jobs and authorising repairs on vehicles up to pre-agreed approval amounts
Keeping our customers updated on the status of their vehicles and arranging driver services as required
Maintaining minimal 'downtime' of fleet vehicles by contacting garages by phone to enquire on the progress of vehicles booked in for maintenance
Ensuring our systems are accurately updated and all queries received are actioned appropriately and promptly

What are we looking for?

You come from a technical/mechanical background and you're passionate about providing the best possible customer experiences. You have a broad knowledge of basic mechanical issues, right through to more complex problems that may require the use of advance fault-finding tools. You're a tenacious problem-solver with the ability to think on your feet and act promptly.

Also, we're looking for the following:

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics and repairs
Ability to deliver accurate work, with great attention to detail
A strong team player with a proactive, can-do attitude
IT literate and the confidence to learn new systems
Relevant City & Guilds or NVQ is highly desirable
