What does the role involve?

Reporting to our End User Computing Manager, the IT Technical Support Engineer will work as part of small and friendly on-site team, providing desktop and IT technical support to our people at Novuna.  In this role, you'll work on a hybrid basis, with up to 3 days based on site in our Newbury office, and the rest of the week working from home.  In order to set you up for success in the role, we'll provide on the job training which will be full time in the office during initial training phase. 

Some of your key duties will include:

  • Acting as an on-site contact for IT-related incidents logged through ServiceNow, working through a dedicated queue of tickets
  • Working through tickets for starters, movers and leavers including issuing new starter IT kit, and leavers returning kit
  • Escalation of complex issues to 3rd line using the correct process
  • Proactively avoiding repetitive incidents through publishing “how-to's” and tips to users on a regular basis and ensuring that the knowledge base in ServiceNow is kept up to date at all times

What are we looking for?

You enjoy delivering exceptional customer service, and get a real kick out of solving problems. You'll not necessarily have a background in technical support, but will have a proven track record of delivering outstanding customer experiences and a passion for IT with the desire to learn new technologies.

Also, we're looking for the following: 

  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly skilled in the use of call logging software (ServiceNow would be advantageous)
  • Excellent problem solving ability

Working knowledge of any of the following would be a plus:

  • Windows 10
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Knowledge of common desktop software packages / applications
  • Fault finding for hardware, desktops, printers, laptops, AV
  • User management in an Active Directory environment
  • SCCM
  • Cisco VPN
  • Bitlocker device encryption
