What does the role involve?

As a DevOps Lead, you will drive forward our DevOps strategy whilst also helping key projects and programmes to deliver their products more efficiently and effectively through close collaboration. You'll manage a small team of DevOps Engineers, building capabilities within the team by supporting our development environment; a mixture of local, docker- and cloud-based platforms; as well as secure and safe deployment pipelines for the developed applications.

Some of your key duties will include:

Leadership of DevOps Engineers across projects and squads, providing technical support and guidance
Define the build, test and deployment pipeline
Own and drive the DevOps strategy and identify opportunities for use of automation and tools to drive efficiencies
Act as an expert in cloud technologies, you'll also influence the design and architecture of the solutions being built

What are we looking for?

You will be an evangelist for DevOps practices and will spearhead the creation of new technology infrastructures and will have extensive commercial exposure across multiple technology stacks, programming languages and cloud architectures. Ideally you will have a proven track record in a DevOps (CI/CD) environment on larger scale programmes of work.

Also, we're looking for the following:

Knowledge of multiple DevOps tools and configuration management
Experience working with productionised Cloud environments (AWS preferred)
Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to work effectively to meet demand
Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and persuade
