What does the role involve?
Reporting into our Head of Supplier Relationship Management you'll work alongside our two existing Supplier Managers, overseeing strategic in-life automotive categories with examples being Tyres, Accident Management or Vehicle Breakdown. Relationships will be managed effectively, ensuring that our suppliers are delivering on contractual performance metrics and providing fantastic outcomes for our customers. You'll manage risk appropriately, explore opportunities for cost efficiencies within each category, and in collaboration with key business stakeholders drive the development of continuous improvement through game changing innovation.
Some of your key duties will also include:
- Establishing the root cause of any issues through regular liaison with suppliers and develop service improvement plans if required
- Continual supplier research and development to optimise the value add opportunities within the service provision portfolio
- Adherence to Procurement Governance which includes robust supplier risk and effective contract management framework
- Working closely with our Procurement Team regarding contractual terms and acting as the category SME with any tender activity
Please note we adopt a hybrid approach to our ways of working which would see you based from our modern office in Trowbridge (Wiltshire) 2 days per week. We value opportunities to meet face to face with suppliers so the role will also involve UK travel as and when required.
What are we looking for?
To be considered for this role you'll be able to demonstrate the successful management of suppliers, ideally within the Financial Services and/or automotive industry, with knowledge of supply chain methodologies and procurement/SRM best practice. You'll be a natural relationship builder, someone who keeps the needs of the customer at the forefront of their thinking with the commercial acumen and professionalism to challenge suppliers appropriately.
Also, we're looking for the following:
- The ability to make sound commercial decisions within the wider business context
- An collaborative individual who has the skillset to effectively influence senior colleagues throughout the business
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse data to inform decision making
- An understanding and awareness of automotive industry trends and factors that can impact on supplier performance
