What does the role involve?

As a Payroll Specialist, you will report to the Group Payroll Manager and will be a key player in our evolving HR community. You will work with your team to deliver the monthly execution of the UK UK/Expat/Pensioner and International payrolls for 2000 employees. You will play a key part in the upcoming system replacement/upgrade project, providing support to the Group Payroll Manager and the Project Team to deliver a new solution.

Some of your key duties will be to:

Run monthly in-house payroll for UK employees, expats, pensions, and outsourced international payroll
Process starters/ leavers, sickness, amendments, and parental payments such as maternity, paternity, shared parental and adoption
Process variable data based on our company benefits, various types of bonuses, overtime, commission, car/cash allowances
Maintain good working relationships with third-party suppliers, plus internal and external customers.
Perform manual tax and national insurance calculations

What are we looking for?

You will be organised, level-headed, and a collaborative payroll pioneer. A key part of this role involves working closely with different departments and teams, therefore you will come with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Your can-do attitude will ensure that our payroll process runs smoothly on a monthly basis. Your attention to detail alongside your ability to think outside the box will play an important part in the successful execution of this role.

Also, we're looking for knowledge of:

Payroll related UK legislation
National Insurance and Tax
Manual calculations
Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP/Pivot Table)
Process analysis and continuous improvement
